We all want things - lots of them. And we know that to get them, we have to trade with others. If you have something I'd like, I have to figure out a good "deal" I can make with you - I trade my resources for yours. Money is just the medium we use to make the process of wealth-trading smoother.
If "Joe" wants to buy a car, he's going to need some wealth he can trade with the car dealer. Where will he get it?
- He can create wealth.
- He can borrow wealth from others and pay it back later.
- He can trade wealth he already has.
- He can forcibly take wealth other people have created.
Assuming the fourth option is out (that one's only legal for the government), and assuming the third option isn't available to Joe, he's probably looking at a mix of the first two, right?
He might borrow some wealth-units (dollars) from someone else (like a bank), and then pay them back as he creates wealth in the future, at his job.

So far, so good. But what happens when Joe overextends - when he borrows more than he can possibly create and pay back?

We hear about it almost daily on the news: so many people
entering the United States,
mostly by illegal means. For centuries, North America has been a place where immigrants from
other nations have journeyed; looking for freedom, opportunity, and the hope of
a better life. Today, however, many
immigrants cross the border without registering; without respecting the laws of
the nation.
It makes me wonder: What would Jesus say to all these
people? These “illegals?”

The political solutions to illegal immigration seem obvious
to most thinking Americans: build a fence and patrol it with either the
military or more border security, implement some form of guest worker program
to allow the work of many to continue legally, and enforce the laws we already
have on the books regarding immigration, citizenship, etc. However, as people who live in border states would be
quick to tell you, things are a little more complex than most of us
realize.
While we hope our leaders come up with a workable solution,
I wonder what we as individuals should think about our “illegal” neighbors;
people who may work hard, have families, and hope for a bright future in America. What would Jesus say to us about these
people?

The President-Elect will have a new supporter in January; not because of anything he has said or clarified, but because of his new position as my nation's president.
And while I disagree with the President-to-be on the substance of what good governance is, I respect him and his office, and hope that he finds great success. After all, as a key leader of my nation, his success is my own. My prayers will be with him for wisdom and courage to do what is right, regardless of the circumstances.

Well, after far too many months of talking heads and polling data, we can all breathe a sign of relief and check back in on the political system three or four years from now.
Wrong!
Now led by radical leftists bent on reshaping American society via socialism and reinterpreting the Constitution to protect their liberal agenda, Americans will need to be more vigilant than ever in the fight to preserve their rights, their freedom, and their wealth.
A few expectations for the near future:

He can't be trusted to tell the truth.
I know, I know, we could level this charge at just about any politician. Half-truths, exaggerations, white lies and flip-flopping go with the territory. So what's different about Obama?
He wants to be the President.
But Bill Clinton got away with it in court. And liberals would claim the Bush Administration got away with it on the war. Don't both sides expect politicans to spin things a bit?
I don't.

He doesn't believe you can make it without government help.
America didn't become the wealthiest nation in the world on accident. The values, ideals and inspiration of our founding fathers set off of torrent of optimism, self-reliance, hard work, and innovation that propelled the U.S. forward (carrying the rest of the world with it).
