To offer inspiration and enlightenment to Americans who wish to see their nation improved and their freedoms preserved for the next century and beyond.
Promoting liberty and justice for all has not been an easy task for any generation of Americans, including our own. The revolutionaries shook off the chains of British tyranny, struggling against the odds to secure a free nation. The leaders of that era set out to build a republic such as the world had never seen: a government accountable to its people, crowned only by the rule of law, as set forth in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Over the years, America grew to become the “city on a hill” that its forefathers had envisioned, a place on earth where all who yearned for freedom and opportunity could look. But that place of liberty, of prosperity, and of opportunity has not been easy to maintain. The dark forces of tyranny have time and again threatened our way of life, requiring each generation of Americans to take their stand.
The evil of slavery existed from the beginning, fought against unsuccessfully by politicians for more than seventy years, and finally defeated by American troops in the Civil War.
Storm clouds over Europe threatened twice to extinguish the candle of liberty, and twice Americans have answered the call to fight half-a-world away to secure the blessings of freedom for ourselves, our allies, and even those nations once our enemies. When Japanese forces attacked the United States , Americans responded with unprecedented military, technological and industrial might, beating back the enemy and releasing the whole of south Asia from cruel monarchy.
When Communism made its ill-fated rise to prominence in Russia and beyond, America stood toe-to-toe with the “evil empire” bent on world conquest. And this time, America vanquished her foe without firing a shot.
And today, Americans fight across the world against Islamic terror regimes and stand against the still-present threat of Communism, seeking not only to protect their homeland from harm, but to secure freedom for those nations bound by tyrants.
From Boston Harbor to Iwo Jima, from Berlin to Baghdad , Americans have battled to secure freedom and eliminate those that threaten it. These battles were fought, not just for immediate victory or temporary peace, but to secure a better future for children not yet born, to insure that “liberty and justice for all” is the mantra of government centuries from now.
But some of America 's greatest threats have risen from within. And perhaps the most insidious of these threats is the growing indifference Americans show toward national affairs; their relative lack of knowledge about what it is that made (and keeps) America great.
The usual suspects stand in line to chip away at freedom and prosperity; religious fanaticism, socialist policies, corrupt politicians, misinformed voters, financial irresponsibility, passivism, relativism, family breakdown, political correctness, selfishness and a host of other dangerous trends.
eRevolution.us was founded to confront and defeat such threats. We believe in the power of ideas to change the world – the right ideas – the kind that are informed by history, backed by the facts, and inspired by true leaders. We believe that America has far more strengths than she has weaknesses, and that the way of life our forefathers died to secure for us is worth protecting, and passing forward.
I hope you'll stand with us as a patriot, a freedom-fighter, a fellow American.
Your country needs you.
